About

Mandy Cavan, LMFT, MA, MACP

Mandy is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist with two graduate degrees: a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Loyola Marymount University and a Masters in Arts in Counseling Psychology (Marriage Family Therapy) from Argosy University. In addition to her graduate degrees in counseling, she has received extended education as a Sports Psychology Consultant through Applied Association of Sport Psychology (AASP), as well as a certification through Insight LA to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

She began her work as a therapist at South Bay Center for Counseling in El Segundo where she treated individuals, couples, and families, as well as facilitated Mindfulness-based groups to the South Bay community. Prior to graduate school, she was a professional soccer player who played for the United States National team. Due to the stress and pressures of professional athletics, Mandy began to study and develop a daily practice of Mindfulness meditation.

The personal benefits of her own meditation practice have encouraged her to teach others. She facilitates Mindfulness groups in the South Bay community such as Mindfulness-based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) for individuals who suffer from addiction, “Discovering Joy” for individuals who are seeking more happiness and fulfillment, and “Find Your Inner Chill” for teens who are stressed and overwhelmed.
